Dear Rotarian Friends,

We are delighted invite you to the IGFR 35th European Championship, which will be organized by the ASPENDOS ROTARY CLUB and held on the Ancient Riviera, among one of the most dynamic and fastest growing golf destinations in the World.

The feedback we received succeeding the 2006 World Championship, motivated us for this upcoming European Championship in 2009. As many of you probably know, the Aspendos Rotary Club has been hosting their traditional tournaments every year since 2000. The experience and reputation will surely help to offer an impeccable event to the attendees for 35th European Championship.  

The tournament will be held over two challenging courses. The 27-hole Championship Golf Course, designed by Nick Faldo - Cornelia Golf Club ‘Faldo Course’ and the new 'Montgomerie' Course at Papillon Golf Club designed by Colin Montgomerie, these two courses are among the best in Turkey. You will enjoy a golf experience that winds its way through some of the most natural landscapes Turkey can offer. Even though the Faldo course opened only one and a half year ago, the visiting players and professionals already rated this course within the top ten of finest courses in Europe. The Montgomerie course will open this September officially, but the early visitors showed their interests for its unique beauty, and Colin Montgomerie rated his first European designed course as one of his best. Let’s note that ‘Belek’ had been chosen as the ‘BEST GOLF DESTINATION’ for 2008 by International Golf Tour Operators Association.

If you wish to come to the destination earlier or leave later, you can play at some of the other fantastic courses in the Belek region of Turkey, in total there will be 17 (18 hole) courses in a 20km stretch.
